About the Lyceum
![]() One of the main things the adults in the Lyceum are ńoncerned about is how to make a homely atmosphere of warmth, comfort, love and cooperation. We travel around Russia together with our students, go together to the educational trips abroad and to language summer schools, go hiking. It is very important for us all because in these trips it is essential not only to gain knowledge but to get the feeling of a big and loving family. Geography of the Lyceum’s trips looks very impressive – we’ve been to Rostov, Novgorod, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Pskov, Izborsk, Mikhailovskoye, Souzdal, Vladimir, St. Petersburg, Yasnaya Polyana, Polenovo, Spasskoye-Lutovinovo, Greece, Egypt, France, Italy, Crete, etc. These places are not chosen at random, but on purpose, according to the material which has been covered in humanities and artistic subjects. Our children study even when they relax. Let’s follow the main places where the Lyceum students have been to…
At the ancient walls of Novgorod temples children become aware of the events of their own history quite in a different way comparing to the situation when they are sitting at their desks. And of course this is the place to get inspired. In magnificent St. Petersburg we speak not only about historic and artistic places of interest. This city is the best place in the world to push the children to understand the spirit of Russian literature and history and to the understanding of what the beauty is. Listening to Pushkin’s lines just at the walls of Pushkin’s house in Mikhailovskoye, the children acquire quite a different, personal way of perceiving the poetry. While painting the same landscapes in Polenovo as were painted by the most of Russian “Itinerants”, a little painter can’t help feeling that he has just joined something very special. Perhaps this is what is usually called «patriotism”? In foreign trips children have a great opportunity to experience the treasures of world civilizations.
And much, much more… And sometimes studies are put aside, and we take a camping trip in the countryside… |
